Frequently Asked Questions
We have put together a list of frequently asked questions regarding our photo sessions, if you still can't find the answer you are looking for - please contact us.

Q. Can you help me stylize our shoot? I don't have any ideas.

A. Absolutely! We love coming up with ideas to stylize a special memory for you and your family. We will work with you to come up with ideas that mean a lot to you and a location to match the feel for the moments we are creating.

Q. Do you help with posing?

A. Definitely. We work with people to make the poses look non-posed. Our style is very soft and romantic, with playfulness thrown in! We like the look to be natural. There are times we will be shooting and you won't even know those candid moments happened, and other times we'll give direction as to what we feel would look the best. We've got you covered. You need not plan out poses on your own – that's why you've hired us! On the other hand, if you are inspired by a certain 'look' or pose, bring that idea along, we can certainly use it!

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?

A. We use professional Canon gear with professional Canon lenses and several flashes, plus lots of other goodies to makes your images shine!

Q. Do you travel?

A. Yes, please enquire about destination weddings and out of town photo shoots. We certainly would love to!

Q. How long is our photo session?

A. Typically our stylized photo sessions run between 1 and 2 hours.

Q. How many locations can I choose?

A. Two locations is a good number to start with; however, we can go to as many location sas we have time for within a 1 - 2 hour time frame. However, if we see a really great location en-route, we have been known to stop because it was too good to pass up.

Q. What do we do if it's raining on the day of the photo session?

A. If it is a light rain we can still shoot. We have plenty of umbrellas, and some rainy shots can be quite beautiful! We can also use an indoor location too – coffee time here we come! If you have your heart set on the sunshine rays we can rebook.

Q. How long is the wait to see my pictures?

A. We typically take 2 – 4 weeks to process your pictures and upload them to our online gallery for viewing and sharing.

Q. What is the online gallery?

A. The online gallery is the place where you can view your photos, share your photos with friends and family, and order prints, canvases, thank you cards etc. This will be the first place that you will see your photos, and for the first 30 days your prints are 2 for 1!

Q. Will I get the high resolution files?

A. Yes, we provide your images on DVD after the initial 30 day online viewing period is over, or at the same time that you receive your fine art book.

Q. Do you offer fine art books for regular stylized sessions or just weddings?

A. We offer fine art books for any photo session! We love the fine art books that we have to offer, and you can find more information in our fine art books section. We can also show you in person what we have to offer.

Q. Do I get to choose the images for my fine art book?

A. We start by picking the best images which tell a story about your photo session. If you have an image that you just have to have in the book, please let me know – we will work together to make your book something you will love and cherish.

Q. How long does it take to receive my fine art book?

A. Typically these specialized books take from 1 - 2 months to arrive. Prior to ordering the fine art book, we need 2 - 4 weeks to process your pictures and upload them to the online gallery.

Q. Are gift certificates available?

A. Yes! Yes! And yes! What a perfect gift! Grads, baby showers, Mother's Day, birthday gifts... Girls especially love a shoot with their girlfriends! Who doesn't love to get dressed in your favorite outfit and go out and play?! That's what my sessions are really like...time with your favorite people just enjoying each other. Gift certificates can be used towards a session or towards prints or a fine art book too!

Q. How many images will I get?

A. Typically you will receive between 40 – 60 images from a portrait photo session. We include colour as well as black and whites of most images.

Q. Why are you offering print packages and not just the DVD as some photographers do?

A. More and more photographers are offering prints with their packages. The reason for this is because of how your images wil print at a non-professional lab - the difference is very noticeable! If you order your favourite image as an enlargement with your print credit, and then get that same print done at your favorite non-professional lab - you'll see the difference. At Esprit Photography, we pride ourselves in offering exceptional quality!

Q. How long do I have to order professional prints from the online gallery?

A. Forever! Yes, that's right forever. If you want to order picture 10 years from now – you can.

Q. Do you have backup copies of my images?

A. Absolutely. In four different places – we've got you covered there too! We have backups on different media types in several locations.

Q. What should we wear to our session?

A. Wear what you love and what you're comfortable in. If you are uncomfortable in your clothes it will show. Coordinate with each other, but you don't have to be matchy. Stay away from logos and bold patterns; simple is best. Accessories are good to bring as they add character to your outfit. If you want more detailed advice don't hesitate to ask us.

Q. What should we bring to our session?

A. Bring anything that you want to remember in your photos. If your kids love a certain toy or blanket, bring that. If you love having a certain picnic lunch at your favorite park – let's bring it! If your favorite thing to do as a family is fly a kite – you should bring the kite along. If you love the exhibition with cotton candy, let's make sure to add that into our shoot – don't forget the balloons too! We can give you lots of ideas of what to bring.
